Would you consider selling your wedding dress? Would you consider purchasing a ‘once-worn’ wedding dress? It can seem really wasteful to spend so much money on a dress you will only wear once, and it isn’t very ‘green’ either!
Today we’re introducting an alternative – wedding dress consignment! All of the stores listed are very selective about the condition of the dresses they take in. They must be unworn or in ‘like new condition’ to be accepted so don’t be afraid to check this option out!
There are several places in Minnesota that offer wedding dress consignment if you are looking to buy, sell, or donate a dress:
Brides of France – Three locations around the Twin Cities (Uptown, Edina, and Richfield) offer a wide range of both new and consigned dresses. The shops also carry a fabulous array of accessories including vintage jewelry.
Classy Consignments Bridal & Formal Wear – Choose from over 250 gowns at this family-owned business in Anoka. You’ll find brands such as Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, Sweetheart, Forever Yours, and more!
Goodwill Bridal Showcase – This gigantic wedding sale happens every February (this year’s has passed, but check the link for next year!). The sale typically includes over 1000 options for bridal gowns, mother of the bride, bridesmaids, and flower girls. You can even buy VIP tickets to get in the Friday before the sale starts for $25!

Bride to Be Consignment – Recently featured in the Star Tribune this consignment shop in Burnsville stocks nearly 150 wedding gowns. One thing that makes this shop unique is that it also sells consigned decorations, toasting flutes, and other wedding accessories at about half of the retail price (score!)
Brides Against Breast Cancer – This organization provides a wonderful opportunity for brides to help a worthy cause while finding the dress of their dreams (at a discount no less!) The national organization holds a sale in Minneapolis every spring. Check their website for dates to be finalized soon!
